Research trip to IPP CAS, Prague

Steven Thomas, a third year Fusion CDT student based at University of York, recently completed his collaboratory research project at the Institute of Plasma Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IPP CAS) in Prague. Whilst he was there, Steven participated in the SUMTRAIC 2019 event – an experimental summer training course in plasma physics in magnetic confinement fusion devices (tokamaks). The SUMTRAIC was two weeks long and at the end of the course, the students presented their work to the other attendees and to staff and other researchers at the IPP. The audience members voted on the presentations and Steven was awarded third place. Well done Steve!
